Nina Dillof [1986, Textiles]

The creative journey has come full circle for designer Nina Dillof. What grew from her childhood enchantment with the sparkle of jewelry, became a passion for color and pattern that lead to her studies in textile design at the Rhode Island School of Design. As she refined her design skills, the calling to create jewelry beckoned and she transitioned from fabric to metals, working as a bench jeweler in Berkeley, CA for many years. Now designing and creating on her own, the one of a kind jewelry she creates flows naturally from this love of color and sparkle. Nina engages with the shape and intrinsic qualities of her stones and vintage beads, and they, in turn, inform her of the pattern they wish to take. Nina meticulously makes each piece by hand on a small beading loom. She uses semi precious stones, vintage steel, metal, and glass beads beads. Choosing one of Nina’s beautiful bracelets, the wearer joins in the magical circle of artist, material and collector.
