Eloise Mahoney, of Plush, is a fiber artist designing and punch needling textiles that she hand sews on to the back of carefully thrifted jackets. Punch needle rug hooking is a rug making technique in which yarn is punched through a backing fabric to make a dense, looped textile. She is inspired by nature and a modern design aesthetic and color is her passion in the process. She is a one woman show – designing, sketching, choosing a color palette, punch needling, hemming and sewing. She finishes the process by adding new buttons, a label and care instructions. She has a growing inventory of originally designed jackets, for adults and children, and offers custom designs as well.
