Hugo Nakashima-Brown crafts handmade furniture in Boston, MA. Trained as a painter at RISD and as a 17th-19th century furniture maker at the North Bennet St. School, Hugo delves into historical precedent and the perfection of use through form by centuries of craftspeople to produce furniture of timeless aesthetics which meets the needs of 21st-century furniture. For RISD Craft this year, Hugo has brought a number of marquetry portraits for sale at an affordable price, as well as a few larger pieces of furniture. Work can also be made on commission for a later delivery.
