Harry’s work is centered around earth science, craft, storytelling, and the sacred. She combines these elements to create sentimental objects that honor the Origin of Material.

Harry’s ceramics are thrown or slipcast and then further decorated with relief carvings and slip trailing. Her work is wood-fired- a communal process that involves collecting and processing wood, loading a kiln, and building heat in the kiln for several days to create dramatic flashing effects and ash laden surfaces. Harry’s carvings aim to celebrate every element of this process; she focuses on the stages of a tree’s growth as well as the ceramist who cuts the wood and then stokes it into the flames. Harry is currently creating a series of cylindrical seals, carved with dental tools, which imprint each stage of this process into pottery and ceramic jewelry.
