I work a day job at a leather factory, making handbags, briefcases, and wallets. We use high quality vegetable tanned cow hides from Brazil. The hides are a byproduct of the meat industry. On my lunch breaks and after hours, I design my own pieces using the scraps that have scars, tick bites and textures that are unusable to the standards of my employer’s products.
