Alisen has emerged through the flames of fighting cancer and is continuing to explore different firing techniques including how the elements of the wood fire affect stoneware clay. Playfulness and asymmetry are entering her work through the alteration of round pots from the wheel, either by stretching the clay walls or combining forms to create larger vessels. As she evolves her artistic voice, surface design has become important in her work once again, with the application of nautilus design symbolizing her own growth and renewal. Alisen continues to share her passion for design and ceramics with her students of all ages.
