Anika Marsh is a recent graduate from RISD, living in Providence RI, pursuing a career as an oil painter. She references and produces paintings from photographs that she either took with her camera in Providence, or bought from Wildlife Reference Photos for Artists (wildlifereferencephotos.com), a database of wildlife photos that allows artists to reference photos and sell their artworks for commercial use without infringing on copyright.

Anika creates original oil paintings that depict nature, specifically wildlife and birds. Her paintings have a touch of abstraction mixed with a realist approach. She aims to give these paintings their liveliness and voice through experimentation so that the image can be in dialogue with the surface and oil paint. Anika enjoys sharing her love for painting with the community, and connecting with people through her oil paintings, prints, postcards, and stickers.
