Anna Alter [1997, Illustration]

Anna Alter grew up with a love for art that tells stories and brings people together. She creates a variety of cheerful, illustrated goods: children’s books written and illustrated by her, archival giclée prints and greeting cards, as well as ceramics with her illustrations on them that can be used in your home or hung on the wall.

Anna began publishing her books in 2001, with a focus on stories that encourage empathy and creative problem solving. Her published books have been a CCBC Choice best book of the year, Bank Street College best book of the year, Junior Library Guild selections, Texas 2×2 Recommended Reading, and twice been included in the Society of Illustrators Original Art Show.

Anna’s books are printed by her publishers, her cards and giclée prints are created in collaboration with professional printers using archival materials, and her ceramic work she makes and paints by hand, usually with porcelain clay. Anna loves to create illustrative art that brings joy and creative inspiration to daily life.
