Pegeen Ryan [1982, Printmaking]
Pegeen Ryan spends much of her time on Cape Cod and draws inspiration from the seashore, using large sea scallop shells as her canvas. Combining spray painting and hand painting, the shells are then framed, mounted on surfaces such as vintage ocean raft wood and distressed beadboard from local cottages, made into hanging pieces with driftwood, or turned into ornaments and ring dishes. All shells are locally sourced, and all pieces are handcrafted and one-of-a kind.
