Ashur Clark [BArch 2024]

Ashur Clark is a craftsperson working across a range of small-scale functional objects including art knives, kitchen knives, drop spindles, jewelry, and others. His work emphasizes fine detail with a focus on highlighting materials, natural forms, and textures.

Ashur often works with rare and responsibly-sourced woods from all over the world, and forges different steels and other metal laminates, selecting materials for their striking visual character as well as their durability. Whether making tools or jewelry, he aims to create pieces that feel both useful and beautiful—balanced in function and form, and that are evocative of the natural world.

Each object is made by hand with close attention to geometry, surface finishes, and the interaction between materials. Rather than disguising the natural qualities of wood or metal, each piece brings those features forward, allowing them to inform the final design.
