Hello RISD Craft jurors, I was the recipient of last year‚ Emerging Artists Award, so I think I am guaranteed a spot this year? Either way, here, a statement: *** Anther Kiley is a graphic designer and educator in Providence, RI. He teaches in the graphic design department at RISD and designs and produces Cardkits, a line of paper toys for children and adults. Cardkits are build-it-yourself paper toys that assemble into elements of a beautifully detailed, interactive miniature cityscape. The toys are beautiful, sustainable, and engage children in healthy and inspiring hands on craft and play. Cardkits launched with a successful exhibition and crowdfunding campaign in 2019. The toys are available online and from design-conscious gift and toy stores. Every part of the Cardkits project‚from the toys themselves, to the packaging, photography, and branding‚is designed by Anther. The toys are printed, die cut, and packaged in ?Rhode Island, from sustainably materials. *** I would love to share this project at RISD Craft again this year!
