Cathy G. Johnson [MA 2017, Art Education]
Cathy G. Johnson is a printmaker, book-maker, illustrator and arts educator. Her silkscreen work is handmade by her at the queer and POC art collective Binch Press x Queer.Archive.Work in Providence. Her work delves into the complicated worlds of young people with themes of the rebellious and monstrous. She makes local community prints and teaches art courses throughout New England. Cathy is also an award-winning author/illustrator and the 2025 recipient of the Underground Visionary Award. She works as an adjunct lecturer in the MFA Visual Narrative program at Boston University, Center for Cartoon Studies, and a printmaking instructor at RISD.
