Chre Collgue is a collaboration with the artisan collective Batik Without Borders; in Niamey, Niger. We create timeless modern garments and accessories using traditional West African fabrics and techniques like strip-weaving, chain-stitched embroidery, wooden batik stamps and indigo dye. Additionally, I develop new textile motifs that explore scientific and natural imagery, which we produce with artisans to enhance the process, provide economic opportunities, and showcase traditional techniques with a modern twist.
