Anna Forrest Fischler is an artist and illustrator based in Providence, RI. Her practice incorporates patterns inspired by quilts, stained glass, stone inlay, and wallpaper with imagery of the natural landscape. She currently produces original paintings, cut-paper assemblages, limited-edition intaglio prints, inkjet and risograph prints, posters, stationery, and stickers. Though her approaches span multiple mediums, they are united by vibrant hues and compositions teeming with texture. The tactility and repetition in her process forms a ritual of presence. It’s a small revolt to work slowly and tangibly in a fast-paced, digitally artificial modernity. Anna’s practice is a form of personal recordkeeping and a reminder to remain enthralled by the intricacies of everyday experience.
