‘I grew up next to the sea on a peninsula between a state park and woodland and an amusement park. My work reflects that environment as I try to incorporate imagery from nature in my work as well as make art and functional ceramics that will evoke a sense of whimsy and nostalgia. I love the magical diversity and spontaneity of working in clay and the way it’s very nature can change with atmospheric firing processes. My vintage porn series is intended to explore ideals of masculinity and sexuality as I also try and draw inspiration from my previous incarnation as a painter and storyteller.’
