Jen Corace [1996, Illustration]
Jen Corace is an illustrator turned potter. Their lifelong interest in housewares and surface design draws inspiration from sixties and seventies patterns, growing up with two very stylistically different grandmothers, vintage children’s books endpapers, the woodcuts of Ed Emberly, as well as organic forms found in nature. All work is either hand built or wheel thrown. Illustrations are carved into the surface using various methods and layering techniques. The end result is a series of functional ceramics featuring one of a kind drawings meant to mix and match with one another in a cohesive aesthetic.
