John Housley [1977, Graphic Design]
For 35 years I worked in graphic design and advertising, where my focus was on the elements of style, typography, form and impact. When I began painting, the skills that I’d used to sell products emerged in a new way. I was drawn to the pure geometric shapes and curves of landscape and it was from there that a new fascination with the interplay of color and texture began to grow. The end result is this series of three dimensional scenes—each a small world where color meets pure design, and typography and letterforms are the natural elements.
