LBK studio is a glass production business located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Founded in 2000/2001, LBK Studio’s designer is Laura Kramer. Kramer received a BFA from RISD (Glass), a MFA from OSU (Glass) and a MA from Columbia University (Cultural Anthropology/Material Studies). Laura Kramer is represented by Heller Gallery, NYC. From the start, LBK Studio has focused on combining innovative design with the expression of the fascinating qualities of the materiality of glass. In the studio we make glass objects by blowing from the furnace, casting in molds in the kilns, and/or using a lamp working torch. Manifesting from a background in design, sculpture, anthropology and archaeology, these pieces are influenced by an eclectic combination of historical glass and its makers, the cabinet of curiosities, and the natural world. At LBK Studio, we believe that every object is imbued with the spirit of the maker.
