I make two separate forms of ceramics: The first stem from a folk tradition called the memory jug. They are ceramic vessels in which I’ve coated in grout and adhered a variety of small objects to. Each of the adhered objects holds a specific memory and meaning, those of which depend especially on the totality of the conglomeration as well as the status of the viewer. They have been compared to I Spy books as well as stained glass and mosaics. The viewers are encouraged to get lost in the jug similar to how they would to a cabinet of curiosities. The jugs are inherently valuable due to the unique shape they take as well as the time and attention taken to collect and curate each object included. The second form of ceramics I make are vessels that emulate the human form and are made using a 3D printer. They can stand on their own as sculptures but I also often use them as vases to hold incense, pencils, or flowers. What they can hold varies on their size. The smaller ones are popular because people find them cute and like to collect them or simply hold them in their hands. They come in a variety of colors and textures depending on the glaze. I’d also consider selling some miscellaneous ceramics and monotype prints I have made over the years.
