Matthew Finger is an artist working in Pawtucket, RI. His body of abstract work explores combinations of color and texture through a variety of repeated geometric shapes inlayed in a puzzle-like style. The work is created using layers of painted collaged paper, wood, various mediums and resin. Often, the pieces work in small series or grids with the works complementing or juxtaposing one another. He finds inspiration all around him from worn architectural fragments, the patina of a boat hull, antique signage, and natural objects like shells, and stones.
