Mia Ziyan Wang [2024, Furniture Design]
Indigo as Language is a craft and home goods studio by Mia Wang, an Rhode Island based artist and designer. Rooted in the ancient and enduring art of indigo dyeing, her studio creates home goods and objects that invite reflection, connection, and wonder.
Inspired by landscapes, lifestyles, and traditional practices, her work seeks to reimagine the ordinary through the enchanting language of color and texture. Indigo, with its depth and history, serves as a foundation—a portal to explore the innate qualities of materials and their ability to evoke emotion.
Each object for sale is hand-crafted by Mia at her home and studo in Cranston, RI. From objects large and small (tables, mirrors, pillows, bags, and small décor), Mia hopes that her work brings warmth and delight to users, just as the experience of making has brought to her.
