Oded Daniely [MFA 2025, Printmaking]
Oded approaches their work as an exploration of changing contexts that shape identity over time. History, place, and personal experience inform the body as both subject and source, guiding a process rooted in interaction with people, environments, and internal states.
The work draws from human figures and natural landscapes, creating compositions where forms shift and reconfigure. This fluidity is balanced by the structure of everyday life, which provides a stable framework for the imagery. Figures function as reflections of physical movement and perception, and each piece records an exchange between figure and environment through traces of presence and motion.
The work is created through a combination of papermaking, printmaking, and drawing. Recycled fibers and materials play a central role, reflecting a commitment to reuse as an active process of transformation. Through this approach, materials carry forward their previous histories while taking on new purpose and meaning.
