Trained originally in Illustration and Furniture Design, Rena Rong infuses functional hand-built and slip-cast works with organic and playful elements. This lets her imagine a different dialogue we might have with the many objects in our lives. Firing primarily in atmospheric kilns, Rong gives static pieces their own inertia through personality and painterly surface treatments, while still maintaining an exciting element of one-of-a-kind unpredictability.
