Sarah Von Dreele [1997, Graphic Design]

Sarah Von Dreele discovered painting while undergoing a traumatic divorce, suddenly upending her life in 2015. During this time, she found refuge in her work which provided a peaceful space to heal. These early works, painted between 2016 and 2018, were inherently meditative and repetitive, lending themselves to manufacturable repeats. After amassing hundreds of works on paper and at the urging of friends and colleagues, Sarah explored viable product applications. Having never worked in product design, she enlisted twenty2, a seasoned woman-led wallpaper mill in Connecticut, to help her develop and manufacture her first wallpaper collection. Printing digitally on environmentally responsible grounds, Sarah’s first collection of wallpaper received a warm welcome at ICFF in May 2019. Named after friends and family who support her, the collection embodies the power of art to facilitate resiliency and empowerment a foundational theme in Sarah’s evolving body of work.
