I am a visual artist & teaching artist from Providence, RI. I make silkscreened prints, posters, and textiles / textile objects, beginning with pencil drawings & hand-cut rubylith stencils, and printing them by hand on fabric & paper. The subject matter is buildings, letterforms, & sometimes just colors, as well as other designs I draw. My work on paper ranges in size from standard postcard to larger than 18×24… & my current main fabric project is cotton bandanas with an original design that I print & sew myself. I also am planning to have some tote bags for the fall sale, with two of my designs – one which I would print myself on pre-made bags, and one which I would have printed and sewn by Enviro-Tote in New Hampshire. I also am working on making machine-embroidered patches of some of my designs, which would be produced in the USA. I want to do the bags and patches *right* & up to RISD Craft’s standards, so I welcome communication & feedback about these processes, as I will be working on production this summer. Thank you!
