Shannon Jones [MFA 2022, Furniture Design]

Shannon Rose Jones (she/her) is a Brooklyn based artist and designer. Her studio practice is predominantly inspired by the landscape of the American midwest, the tension between natural and unnatural materials, neon signs, and her travels on bike and foot. She approaches object-making as a way to memorialize, and make tangible, ephemeral memories of landscape and place. Shannon has a BFA in Woodworking and Printmaking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked in theater, furniture fabrication, and coffee before completing her MFA in Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2022. She now runs the Visible Futures Lab at the School of Visual Arts. Some of her work and process can be found on instagram @iamshannonrose and on her website shannonrosejones.com.
