Sophia’s work explores vibrant color, as well as playful shapes and pattern. In numerous of her paintings she enjoys depicting fantastical scenes of nature, some based on local sites within Massachusetts. She often hides swirl patterning in her paintings and prints. Sophia also handcrafts jewelry, which includes a variety of necklaces and earrings. A majority of her jewelry pieces are inspired by the shells and sea glass she finds on the beaches of the North Shore. Many pieces use actual shells she has personally collected. All of her work comes together to express where she came from and who she has become as a person and artist.
