Sophie Gibson presents a series of soda-fired porcelain wall sculptures depicting figures in buoyant, gravity-defying poses. Sculpted in relief, these foreshortened bodies dance across the wall and evoke a skyscape. This body of work was inspired by Gaston Bachelard’s text, “Air and Dreams: An Essay on the Imagination of Movement.”
