Suruchi Kabra Sauber [MFA 2013, Textiles]
All our clothing is sustainable in both choice of materials and processes. It uses organic cotton that only requires rainwater to grow and is hand loomed. Our fabrics are embellished using handwoven patterns or wood block printing. We stay sustainable even in the choice of our buttons, which are shell or wood buttons. Our clothing is designed with playfulness and versatility in mind. All Harkoi designs start with drawings, stamping, paper cutting, or painting by hand before creating digitized files. We then work with the craftspeople directly and develop color swatches and strike-offs. All our products are handmade at every step of production, in concert with the wonderful craftspeople who translate our designs into fabric. We work with several weaving clusters in India to develop fabrics of different weights and qualities.
