Suzanne Watzman [1976, Graphic Design]

Suzanne Watzman, chief at Tamaryn Design, is a textile “explorer”. Using repurposed, sustainable textiles, natural dyes and physical objects, she creates one-of-a-kind wearable items. Methods for patterning her textiles include shibori/resist methods, botanical printing and natural paints in not-usual ways. Rope, pins, grommets, chopsticks, leaves, bark, bugs, weeds, flowers are tools to create patterns and colors. Bugs turn fabric pink, tree bark dyes purple, green leaves turn orange when steamed-amazing!
