Tracy Farricker [1985, Illustration]
Tracy has always been interested in old books, papers, and other ephemera. She is also a champion of writing things by hand, and the permanence that goes with it. This has led her to explore bookbinding and paper marbling. She has taken numerous classes in bookbinding, from classic to more contemporary forms, as well as restoration and repair of old books. She has extensively studied marbling, fascinated by the history, use of color, and the uniqueness of the finish product. She has taken marbling workshops throughout the northeast, most often with Regina and Dan St. John who impress upon their students the history of the craft and how to use historical materials and patterns, as well as exploring modern patterns and materials for a more contemporary feel. From there she uses the papers to cover books, uses them for endpapers, boxes, and notecards.
